Answer to #1 0mg should be fine and BTW 11mg is pretty low so I wouldn't be worried. Nicotine absorption is 3 to 10 times slower than traditional cigarettes which results in no acute cardiac side effects. Bonus!!! Just to let you know the health risks of nicotine are about equal to that of caffeine. At least that's what the science is pointing to as of right now. Nicotine in itself has never been linked to cancer or heart disease. It's some of the other 4,000 chemicals in cigarettes that do. I actually know a lady who was borderline COPD and her Dr. told her that if she didn't stop smoking in the next yr. the effects more than likely would be permanent. She told him that she was going to try an electronic cigarette and he strongly advised against it (ignorance). She did and a yr. later her lungs have started to heal, she is no longer borderline COPD, she vapes 12mg strength nicotine and shows up negative on her blood tests for nicotine, and her Dr. refers patients to her for help getting set up and quitting. He even asks her for the business cards of the vendors she gets her liquid from to hand out to his patients. I say this to let you know that even if you don't completely get off the nicotine to not go back to smoking as this is a way better and healthier alternative. I do applaud you for the conviction to do so though. I also do echo the water thing. Stay hydrated. Also listen to your body if you start to get a stomach ache or a headache lay off the nicotine for awhile. Answer #2 Your math is right on point with the proportions. Money out of pocket initially is a hit but will balance out once you find a juice you really like. (that's if this doesn't become a hobby for you like it has for me. I have yet to break even I think, but I'm an exception. You don't need multiple $200+ mods to stop smoking.) You can really offset the price if you start making your own juice but I wouldn't advise you do that just yet even though it really isn't that hard. If you can bake a cake you can certainly make your own juice. Concentrate getting a juice you really like first and getting off the stinkies. Answer #3 I hate to be a bit of a downer but nothing you do to the juice will EVER make it taste like a cigarette. There the cat's out of the bag! You just can't duplicate the taste of chemically treated burning leaves. Don't fret though not all is lost. You have a huge advantage going for you. Menthol as you have found out is easy to duplicate yet just not in the proportion you like. Menthol smokers usually have an easier transition into vaping than non menthol smokers do. Menthol goes really, really well with fruit flavors. Here's a very popular vendor that is known for really good fruit and menthol flavors. They even allow you to choose how much menthol you would like. http://rawrvapor.com I think you'll really like them. Remember that even if you don't like a specific juice that there are literally 1,000s of flavors out there. Just stick with it and congrats of making an awesome life changing choice.2 points

Yesterday my E-cigarette kit was finally here in the mail! I came home from work at 8:30 pm and went to work. 1. Unpack the goods. Realize that 3 ml, 5 ml and 10 ml of E-juice bottles are rather on the small side. 2. Unpack the E-cigarette set. Read the chinese-english manual. Realize that this manual ain't helping you. Decide to figure it out on your own. 3. Screw the battery into the charger. Wonder why the light is still blue though the battery should not be fully charged. Figure out after 10 minutes that you need to screw the battery tighter to actually get the red light and have it charging. 4. Realize you have two manual batteries. How did they work again? Watch 15 youtube videos about how to use manual batteries. 5. Decide to fill your first empty cartomizer. Get your blunt syringe ready for it, after having watched 3 youtube videos about syringe filling. Try to get the e-liquid to the 1 ml mark. Realize that you do something wrong because you can only pull up half a ml. Try to get that half ml in your cartomizer without punching holes in the filling. Get about half of the half ml in the cartomizer. Try to put the rest of the liquid back in the e-liquid bottle. Get a vacuum between the bottle and the needle, and when pulling the needle out, detach the needle and spray e-juice over your face, hands, and your cashmere pullover. Soak the pullover in cold water, wash hands and face, and decide to simply drip the rest of the liquid in. Clean cartomizer. 6. After the battery is fully charged, attach the cartomizer to the battery. Cartomizer has settled for about an hour and should be good without burning. Put e-cigarette to lips and realize you had some e-juice on the mouthpiece...eeew. Finally depress the manual button, and try to take a puff. Hm. small vapor. Play around a bit and realize pressing the button first, then waiting a second, and then puffing actually works better. Enjoy the taste of your first choice E-liquid, Nuport by Dekang. Realize it does not taste anything like Newports. 7. Have a fight with your husband because you are all cranky and in a weird mood but can't quite figure out why. Continue said moodswings throughout the day, though you vape as you would usually smoke. Realize late in the afternoon that the first e-liquid you chose had 0 nicotine in it....which explains the weird mood swings *facepalm*. 8. Fill a cartomizer with cool menthol e-liquid 12 mg and relax and enjoy .1 point

See this is where Uma and I differ. While the wicks do last that long and there is nothing better than a well seasoned wick. I change my coils every week to week and a half as I have found out that no matter how much burning and quenching you do it will never taste as good as a new coil once it's broken in for a day. It also makes me more proficient in wrapping coils as I get more practice. I can now twist up a coil faster than I can clean it. Lol. Not to mention it costs me all of about 10 cents to make a new one.1 point

You are right sir. There was a study just released that showed that absorption of nicotine is 3-10 times slower than smoking analogs. Also there is no sign of cardiac distress. Yes I am addicted to nicotine but science points to not dying because of it.1 point

It gets easier and we all get those days sometimes. Especially if you're into rebuildable atomizers like I am. Forget to take the battery out of your mod while building a coil and accidentally hit the button while holding the wire. Yep been there I hate to admit more than once. Lol!1 point

With your cartos, do you use a drip shield? That helps me with the leaking problem. You can get them from Empire Mods. As for being out and about I use mostly T2 and my Vision Vivi Nova Mini. The CE4s are also on stand-by.1 point

I take issue with your assertion that V2 has the best ecig, when in fact all KR808D-1's are the same. V2's is the same as everyone else. V2's assertion that their batt can last a day to a week (" Standard V2 Automatic Batteries can last from 1 day to a week before they require recharging" ) their standard batt is 250 mah. This is false advertising. We all know that batt would be lucky to last 2-3 hours.1 point

After all this time, I still can't decide. I vape cartos at work and love 'em. At home, I'm currently liking my Artemas Locking Tank with a single-coil CE2 in it the best, but dripping runs a close second (or is it the other way around?)...I can't decide.1 point

On the surface, it sounds like an allergic reaction to either PG or VG. I don't know the ingredients in the juice you bought, but don't panic. From everything I've heard, people that are allergic to e-liquids are usually allergic to the propylene glycol in PG-based e-liquids, but can tolerate the vegetable glycerine in VG-based e-liquids with no problem. I've not heard of any cases where a vaper was allergic to both. From the Electronic Cigarette Weekly article entitled "PG vs VG, what's right for you?": "As with anything, some people may be allergic to either PG or VG. These allergies are typically very minor and are noticed by tightness or a tingling sensation on the jaw. A small percentage of people, around 2%, develop more serious irritations. If you find yourself having an allergic reaction to one, try the other." EC Blend has a good selection of All Natural & Organic 100% VG and 100% VG Base juices at very reasonable prices (5 ml. sample bottles for $2 with coupon code) and fast shipping. Use coupon code: 10020 to receive 20% off any e-juice order.1 point

Great review! I really enjoyed your presentation. It's pretty cool to hear that they're making the battery tube out of plastic now. I know that for me, the main drawback to the metal convenience store brands was that I couldn't hold them between my teeth comfortably. Maybe the light weight of this next incarnation of e cigs will provide a better experience for first-time vapers.1 point

I love the Vision Spinner! While the eGo Twist is wonderful, one draw back is that it's next to impossible to see the numbers and what voltage you're vaping at. The Vision Spinner is just like the Twist but with easy to read numbers. My new 1300 Spinner is wonderful. It lasts for a loooooong time between charges. You'll find we all have our favorite toys and we give similar yet different recommendations. I think all of the recs are pretty good for starting out. In the beginning it's good to get something that just "works" and is easy to use. Then, you'll start branching out and trying other things. The easiest for me would be a CE4 (also called a Vision Stardust), Vivi Nova/Vivi Nova Mini, or the new T3 or MT3. You just fill, wait a few minutes so the wicks can get soaked through with e-liquid and vape. For throat hit on the juice you'll want either more nicotine and/or more PG. For more vapor you'll want the higher VG. I'd say go with a 50 PG/50 VG. The higher the nicotine you get, you'll also sacrifice a little on the flavor. If you smoke full flavor I'd suggest 18 or 24 mg of nic. If you smoked lights, 12 mg of nic. Ultra-lights, 6 mg. Just keep in mind that we all seem to vape more than we smoked so in order not to get a nicotine overdose, you'll want a lower nicotine juice for when you're chain vaping. A higher mg juice for when you're not. There are wonderful people on this forum who will answer any question...no matter how many. Good luck!1 point

hello Jerky! lowering the resistance has a similar effect as upping the voltage. low resistant cartos/attys make a standard 3.7v e-cig hit like a 5v. The perfect voltage/resistance is debatable. If I'm not using a variable volt device I prefer low voltage and low resistance.1 point

Well you have a lot of really good questions and congrats on making the effort to quit. I haven't had a real cigarette in over 2 years. This really does work. It is not a gimmick. So let's get into your questions and then I'll make some recommendations. First let's talk about the difference between the eGo-T and eGo-C. The eGo-T was the 1st tank style eGo. The "T" stands for tank. The mouthpiece is the tank for the device. The cone and atomizer are built in together and screw into the battery. Inside of the cone there is a spike that pierces into the mouthpiece. The liquid goes into the spike which feeds into the atomizer. The eGo-C is the exact same system except that the cone and atomizer are separate from each other. Making replacements cheaper to buy. Now on to the bad news. Both have their flaws. The tanks are really, really small and need to be refilled quite frequently. You also can't draw on them very hard at all otherwise you get this annoying whistle and it can cause leaking. They are also known for dry hits. So what's the difference between atomizers, cartomizers, and clearomizers. Atomizers basically are a tube with a piece of silica wick at the bottom that sits in a ceramic cup. The wick is wrapped with wire that heats up and vaporizes the juice. The downside to this is you need to drip 4-5 drops on the atomizer at a time. Vape the liquid away (about 8-10puffs) and repeat the process. Not very conducive to driving and you can over drip which causes leaking. Cartomizers were created to address the constant dripping issue. It's relatively the same size tube as an atomizer and it also has a coil that heats up the e liquid but that coil is surrounded by a poly fill material that holds more juice. You can also get cartomizer tanks (often referred to as carto tanks) which is a tank that surrounds the cartomizer, the cartomizer has one or more holes in it to continually feed the poly fill inside the cartomizer. The downside is that many people find the flavor of an atomizer much cleaner than a cartomizer. Honestly not enough to outweigh it's convenience IMO. You may get a batch where a couple are bad but the good news is that they're cheap. Clearomizers are the idea of putting an atomizer inside of a tank. They do not work consistently enough for me to recommend any of them. They have all had wicking problems and one will be amazing and the next one you will have to throw away after 5 min. of using it. The atomizer can't sit on the bottom of the tank as if it's completely surrounded by liquid it's flooded and can't produce vapor. Soo you have to put it above where the juice is, but then you have the problem of getting the juice from the bottom up to where the coil is. They try to accomplish this by having long strands of wick going down into the tank. Only problem is that the whole system is fighting itself. Gravity is trying to keep the juice going downward while the wick is trying to work juice up to the coil. Resulting in dry hits. The vivi nova works the best out of all of them but you still get some that are bad out of the box. So automatic and manual batteries. Automatic batteries require you to inhale to activate. Unfortunately they aren't sealed and juice WILL eventually get down in the battery causing it to short out. Always go with a manual battery. So on to my recommendations. I would stay away from the eGo-T and eGo-C kits. I would recommend a couple eGo twist batteries, charger and carto tank. The ego twist is a lot like the standard eGo batteries except you can adjust your voltage between 3.2 to 4.8 volts. Higher voltage creates more heat and more vapor. eGo Twist starter kit I know I said to stay away from the clearomizers but the kit is cheaper than buying the batteries and charger seperately. And this way you can decide for yourself. Here's a pretty nice tank. It's made of glass as some juices react with plastic tanks. [url="[url="http://www.valleyvapes.com/Triple-V-Pyrex-4ml-Premium-Tank_p_71.html"] They also carry cartomizers on the same site. And you'll need a carto punching tool to put holes in your cartomizers. It's not the best carto punching tool but it's cheap and it'll work. [url="[url="http://www.valleyvapes.com/Cartomizer-Punch_p_15.html"] It may seem like I'm pushing valleyvapes but I'm not. Honestly never even shopped there. Was just looking for a cheap starter kit and they just so happened to have a nice carto tank setup. Just trying to save you money not having to pay shipping from 5 different places. If you need anything just PM me. Worst case scenario is we do a Skype call to make sure you're good to go. I'd say good luck but it really isn't that hard.1 point

I don't know about that mcquin. I don't find myself rushing to my pv when I get up in the morning or after a meal (those famous triggers). I don't that addicted anymore. I don't find myself craving my pv. I only vape 1ml of 11mg and 2-4ml of 6mg of nicotine a day. As far as I can tell, that's not a lot. But everybody is different though. I want to quit using nicotine so much - but not completely.1 point -
I'm hopelessly addicted to caffeine, I think coffee is harder to quit than analogs, at least for me. I hope you all are right about nicotine alone not being any worse than caffeine. I started vaping as a step to quitting, but I love this stuff!! I started at 18mg when I first got off of analogs, and am now onto 11/12mg. I just placed my latest juice order for 60ml of 6mg stuff. Maybe I'll find I'll be happy with 0 nic, we'll see!1 point
