The NJOY King. The newest disposable making waves and flying off the shelf. With an ad campaign calling out traditional cigarettes saying they have "met their match" and the catchy little jingle (feels like the first time)...sorry it gets stuck in my head. My first e cig was an Njoy. I paid about 80$ for a starter kit and that experience left a bad taste in my mouth.....literally. So Im a bit bias against them. That and I know countless people that have bought an electronic cigarette at a gas station only to throw it out thinking that all e cigs suck. So lets see if the Njoy King can live up to its own hype, Below are 2 review styles Full: Detailed and technical tear down (see below) Basic: The short sweet truth (scroll to Bottom) First puff. WOW....wow.......give me a sec.......WOW. This is the most realistic "cigarette" taste Ive vaped. It is most similar to a camel light. I like tobacco flavors but I quit trying to find something like this a long time ago. After you quit your taste buds seem to come back to life and the taste isnt appealing any more. But right now, this is amazing. Im going to puff on it for a couple hours and test it out. Look and Feel. The Njoy King comes in a nice little flip top box. It comes with a little flyer in the middle with some information about the product and the recycling program (Ill cover it later) The top flips like a zippo lighter and over all its a nice way to carry it around. The cigarette its self has an amazing feel, its like holding a real cigarette. The King is a half inch shorter that a standard electronic cigarette and is covered in a paper wrap over the plastic tubed so it feels more realistic. The tip has a clear plastic wrap over it to keep it from getting wet in your mouth. The tip looks like a burnt cigarette and glows red to simulate smoking. Performance. The Njoy King is supposed to last as long as 2 packs....LIE. I used to smoke a pack a day, now I vape about 5ml a day. Thats 5 standard cartridges. 1 hour and 45 minutes, thats it, and the battery died.I have never been so impressed and so disappointed with an e cig. I will admit that the battery inside is about 35% smaller than a standard 808 (Blog, V2, Volt) electronic cigarette battery. The atomizer is a woven tube with a silica wick through the middle wrapped in a soft cotton like material. When I unwraped the wick it was almost dry again almost 35% smaller that a standard 808 or 510 (Blu, Volcano) So while they claim 2 packs (does vary depending on use) I cant see any way its capable of living up to half of its claim Overall/Basic Review The Njoy King is one of the most realistic cigarette like electronic cigarettes I have ever tried. It feels like a cigarette because of its smaller size and paper coating that again makes it feel like a real paper cigarette. It hits like a cigarette with a smooth throat kick nearly identical to a cigarette. It taste like a cigarette, mostly like a camel light. But I have never been more excited and disappointed with an electronic cigarette The MAJOR problem is that the size of the battery and atomizer cannot support more than a couple hours. At 8$ a piece and less than a 2 hour battery life it can never touch the 2 pack life claim. They do have a recycling program(click here) but it takes 8 used Kings to get 1 for free. They also have a free trial you can order for 2.99 shipping Pros: Great taste, really does taste like a real cigarette The paper texture even feels like a real cigarette The throat hit isnt harsh, and again, like a real cigarette They sell them every where it seems Cons: IT ONLY LAST A COUPLE HOURS 8$ a piece is two pack price around here Buy 8 get 1 free? Did I mention it only lasts a couple hours So there you have it. Amazing product, for a little while. Thanks for reading and click the picture below if you want to get a free sample for your self3 points

Yesterday my E-cigarette kit was finally here in the mail! I came home from work at 8:30 pm and went to work. 1. Unpack the goods. Realize that 3 ml, 5 ml and 10 ml of E-juice bottles are rather on the small side. 2. Unpack the E-cigarette set. Read the chinese-english manual. Realize that this manual ain't helping you. Decide to figure it out on your own. 3. Screw the battery into the charger. Wonder why the light is still blue though the battery should not be fully charged. Figure out after 10 minutes that you need to screw the battery tighter to actually get the red light and have it charging. 4. Realize you have two manual batteries. How did they work again? Watch 15 youtube videos about how to use manual batteries. 5. Decide to fill your first empty cartomizer. Get your blunt syringe ready for it, after having watched 3 youtube videos about syringe filling. Try to get the e-liquid to the 1 ml mark. Realize that you do something wrong because you can only pull up half a ml. Try to get that half ml in your cartomizer without punching holes in the filling. Get about half of the half ml in the cartomizer. Try to put the rest of the liquid back in the e-liquid bottle. Get a vacuum between the bottle and the needle, and when pulling the needle out, detach the needle and spray e-juice over your face, hands, and your cashmere pullover. Soak the pullover in cold water, wash hands and face, and decide to simply drip the rest of the liquid in. Clean cartomizer. 6. After the battery is fully charged, attach the cartomizer to the battery. Cartomizer has settled for about an hour and should be good without burning. Put e-cigarette to lips and realize you had some e-juice on the mouthpiece...eeew. Finally depress the manual button, and try to take a puff. Hm. small vapor. Play around a bit and realize pressing the button first, then waiting a second, and then puffing actually works better. Enjoy the taste of your first choice E-liquid, Nuport by Dekang. Realize it does not taste anything like Newports. 7. Have a fight with your husband because you are all cranky and in a weird mood but can't quite figure out why. Continue said moodswings throughout the day, though you vape as you would usually smoke. Realize late in the afternoon that the first e-liquid you chose had 0 nicotine in it....which explains the weird mood swings *facepalm*. 8. Fill a cartomizer with cool menthol e-liquid 12 mg and relax and enjoy .3 points

They are making some of those types way better these days.If they would be a little more honest about how long they will last and get the price down to reflect that they would start getting a little better reputation. The Henley was like that as well.2 points

Made a sleeve for the ego twist 1000mah. Finished one made from a piece of claro Walnut burl. and dropped it with a unhappy result. Sooo, came home and grabbed a piece of Buckeye burl. I left a little more material on body and lowered the inset depth on the bottom to 3mm. Stabilized the wood with CA, polished with CA, friction set polish, then HUT wax. Just need to not drop it now.1 point

A newbie questions- Does anyone knows what is the expected average lifespan of the ss mesh wick and the kanthal A1 coil 30-32ga, with the assumption that it's perfectly done, with no hotspots and wicking issues and the daily e-liquide consumption is 2ml? And what will be the maintenance of such setup - how and how often it needs to be cleaned/ dry burned?1 point

You're right, of course, Case. You got me to remembering back, and I remember I didn't try it until a few months of vaping the Apple's, Bananas, and other great flavors. What a different out look I may have had if I had of tried that HFC tobacco first. I might be warning people to stay away... far away lol. There are lots of great sample juice packs at various Vendors. Altcig.com has some of the most affordable juices around, and, of course, we either hate em or adore em. I'm at this moment enjoying their Bob's Krave Kutter... it's nutty, dry, with caramel and vanilla. Like a Ry4/555 mix or something. Not too bad. Another one of theirs I really like is Caramel Cappuchino. I'm a cappy fan. I also love their Irish Cream. (strong flavor tho, watch out!). So, with that said, 3 out 5 tried of theirs so far, I feel confident enough to recommend them to others. The best part? They have crazy great prices and when they offer coupon discounts, it's even crazier nice. (sign up for their newsletter). http://www.altcig.com/Fun-Pack-Samplers_c_36.html If you like them, you'll know which types of flavors might be for you. Beverage, fruit, dezert, and so forth, and will feel more confident shopping at the other more expensive stores. If you hate them, it's probably because they used too much flavoring. Shake the bottle good, take the cap off, and let it sit in a safe dark cubby hole for a week, putting the lid back on and shaking it every day. (it won't evaporate). That's called "steeping". Hopefully you will enjoy enough, to learn your palette. If you hate it, it's okay. Just keep it in an igloo and revisit in 6 months. Our tastebuds change as they heal from smoking.1 point

As far as quick shipping http://www.juicyvapor.com Has different size sample packs. Not with all of their flavors though as they have way too many. Some fun ones they have are Ecto-plasma and Fruit striped gum. Another vendor a lot of people like that have sample packs is http://www.rawrvapor.com1 point

I've tried several cigarette-style e-cigs, and still use them from time to time, but only when I want a really light vape. If you want to try a PV that really puts out vapor/throat hit/flavor, I'd suggest the $21 Vision Spinner 1300mAh paired with a five-pack of Boge SR 3Ω cartomizers for $5.50. With the Spinner, you can dial up the voltage to increase power to the cartomizer, giving you a warmer, more flavorful vape. Yeah, it's a little longer and wider than an e-cig, but for the price and performance, it's really a great device. YMMV PS - Drip tips make topping off cartos much easier.1 point

Hi Uma! The only reason I didn't recommend a tobacco isn't because I don't like them cause I love a good tobacco. For a new vaper though I think it's easier to find a fruit flavor or bakery flavor. Tobaccos automatically have something going against them when it comes to a new vaper. The preconceived notion that tobacco means that it tastes like a cigarette. Well you and I know that a cigarette flavor is impossible. To truly appreciate a tobacco you have to first understand how we taste vapor. To me vapor is more tied to smell than taste. When we taste a strawberry we get texture, juice, temperature ect. When we taste vapor none of that is present. Wrapping your brain around this concept allows us to appreciate a good tobacco. A good tobacco to me will taste like good pipe tobacco smells or how a freshly opened pack of cigarette or cigar smells. I just think as a new vapor understanding that is asking a bit much. Lol.1 point

CaseAce has your back. The only thing I can think of to add, is the prefilled Honey Flue Cured Tobacco from LiquidXpress.com 12mg if they have it. It might not be your cuppa-tea... some love it (like me) and some hate it. But I leave you the link, because I don't know what side of the fence you'll fall on. If nothing else, they're great for in a pinch when your other carto's need replacing or whatever. Never hurts to have backups! Just ask Nana.1 point

help ! did i just make a HUGE mistake?
Tam reacted to CascadianExotics for a topic
Sweet pick up!!! Like others said, get more juice, maybe a clearomizer / vivi nova / carto tank, and you'll be in business. My biggest mistake in starting out was not leaving enough budget to get a few bottles in different strengths. For the first few days, I ended up making myself sick a number of times chain-vaping too high of a strength while jonesing for a smoke. Worse yet, I was stuck with the high-strength liquid until payday, then a few more days until my juice order arrived in the mail. Congrats, again, and good luck to you on your journey towards a new (and better) analog-free life!!!1 point -

Are Electronic Cigarettes Safe?
Loucous reacted to Christopher for a topic
I think the question is better asked, is E Liquid safe. The short answer? Nobody really knows. The thing is, cigarettes are so bad that smoking a rolled up dirty newspaper is probably safer than smoking a cigarette. In that respect ecigs probably are better. If nobody knows then why are suppliers selling them? Well in my opinion it’s a step in the right direction. Currently the only alternatives to nicotine on the market are patches and gums. And if your a smoker, like I was, we all know it doesn’t always work in our favor. In my case neither worked at all. It’s been a shock and surprise for ecig users to find that almost every country and government agency is trying their hardest to bury this new technology. (Though the United States and United Kingdom citizens have fought her to defend their right to vape, so far so good) After years of searching and looking for an alternative and even joking “if there is ever a safer alternative that’s one thing but for now this is all we have” bang, out comes electronic cigarettes only to be pushed aside like a stray animal. Amazing isn’t it? So what exactly is inside E Liquid? Well the most popular manufacture in China (DK) gives the following ingredients: 1. Propylene glycol About 80% 2. Tobacco Essential Oil Less than 5% 3. Tobacco Absolute Virginia Less than 5% 4. Tobacco Absolute, Burly Less than 5% 5. Nicotine (From Tobacco Leaf) 1-3.6% 6. 2, 3, 5 Trimethylpyrazine Less than 1% 7. 2, 3 Dimethylpyrazine Less than 1% 8. 2, 5 Dimethylpyrazine Less than 1% 9. 2, Ethylpyrazine Less than 1% The FDA tested E Liquid and found it to be unsafe however companies questioned their testing and we’re all still waiting for the results to be published not only on their findings but their form of method. Not to long ago popular ecig vendor Totally Wicked did their own testing on Chinese E Liquid. Many vendors all purchase their liquid from the same source. The study can be found: Here But for now it’s up to the consumer to make the decision to vape and weigh out the pros and cons. What about the factory, is it sanitary? Well lets take a look at our friend Leaford who actually flew over to DK in China. You can see the logo in the video.1 point -

Pg Vs. Vg Vs. Peg
Loucous reacted to Christopher for a topic
There are three possible base carrier liquids in use for e-liquid (the refill liquid used in electronic cigarettes): PG, VG, and PEG. PG is the most common, usually with a proportion of VG as that produces more vapor. PEG is more common in pre-filled cartomizers. 1. PG or propylene glycol or propane-1,2, diol PG is the most common refill liquid base material, normally used with 10% to 30% VG. It is virtually inert in the body and can even be injected into the bloodstream without effect (and it is: it is the carrier liquid for drugs like diazepam that don’t mix with water). It is a powerful bactericide and virucide, and has been used in hospital air spray projects. There is a vast body of research on it going back 70 years that proves it is safe in any reasonable quantity. PG is usually the main constituent in disco fog machines. Due to strict employee health regulations that cannot be subverted, it is approved as safe for extended exposure for employees in discos, bars and theatres. Because it is made from non-organic sources (via chemical processes) allergies are not reported. It presents flavors well and has the best TH of the three choices. 2. VG or vegetable glycerine or glycerol or propane-1,2,3, triol VG is an alternative carrier liquid, though more commonly used as an additive to PG liquids. It is more viscous (thick) than PG. If used as the sole base material, it will need diluting with 10% – 20% DW (distilled water). Other additions seen include alcohol and EM (ethyl maltol). There is little research on inhalation. It is thought to be less inert than PG, and to be treated by the body as a complex carbohydrate – that is, metabolized by being broken down into carbohydrates and/or excreted. VG can be synthesized and made in a similar way to PG and PEG, from other chemicals, or it can be made from vegetable sources – mainly coconut oil and palm oil. For this reason there are a very small number of people who may have an allergy to a specific brand, of the same type of allergy as that to peanuts. Because it does not have the same bactericidal action as PG, preservatives such as sulphites may be added to it to prevent deterioration; therefore, there are questions such as: are the additives the cause of ‘allergies’, or indeed whether VG with additives should be used for inhalation. It produces more vapor than PG. It produces less TH and does not present flavors as well. 3. PEG or polyethylene glycol PEG is the least common carrier liquid. It can be made in many different formulations, the one used for e-liquid is called PEG400. This formulation appears to be chosen as it has the right viscosity, as it can be thinner, thicker, or even in the form of a wax. As far as we know there is little research but it cannot be toxic as it is used in foods and medicines. It is said to present flavors better than any other base liquid. Because it handles flavors so well it is used by several of the major cartomizer-only (2-piece ecig) firms that mainly sell to first-time buyers, as it works well in cartos. We think it comprises 1% or less of bottled eliquid volume but it is far higher in the pre-filled carto market – perhaps as much as 33%. PEG is the most likely of all the three base materials to be contaminated with DEG as the manufacturing process can be carried out using the same equipment, so there is a risk of cross-contamination. Uses All these base liquids are used in medicinal preparations of one sort or another, and are considered non-toxic. They are all used in foods, skin creams and some (if not all) in medical inhalers, so any MSDS warnings can be completely ignored. PG for example is used as the mist carrier in nebulizers for lung transplant patients, so it can be assumed that it is as inert as it is possible for a material to be that is not water. They can be used (especially PG) to make antifreeze or to make it less toxic – for example, to make it less dangerous to livestock or pets, and for winterizing boat and RV lavatory systems that may have human contact by touch or inhalation. PG is used for this purpose because it has a very low freezing point, is non-toxic, and is relatively cheap. There is an important question about safety concerning VG, that does not affect the other two liquids: if taken to over its boiling point it can degrade into acrolein, which is poisonous. However all tests so far indicate that for some reason this does not happen in an e-cigarette although theoretically it might. Acrolein was not detected in tests carried out by Intellicig even when the temperature was raised higher than normal. This may be because the addition of other ingredients such as water changes the boiling point enough that acrolein is not created, and/or due to the fact that if the temperature within an atomizer can rise sufficiently high to produce acrolein, then there is no liquid left to convert. Acrolein apparently has a strong, characteristic odor so it would be noticed in any case. We know less about PEG although it seems, so far, to be inert in the body. DEG Diethylene glycol is a poison that kills by damaging the liver and kidneys among other effects. It is very similar to PG and PEG in appearance, taste and characteristics, and it is produced in the same way from similar raw materials and as a by-product of similar manufacturing processes, although PEG seems especially implicated. It is therefore likely to be found in any materials of this type due to poor manufacturing controls or cross-contamination – for example, using drums for PEG400 that previously contained DEG. For this reason it is the main contaminant that should be tested for. Because PEG is more likely than the others to be contaminated with DEG, and because pre-filled cartomizers are the main area of use for PEG, it follows that such cartos need testing more than other materials. The FDA was formed in 1938 as a direct result of a wide-scale poisoning incident in 1937 in which more than a hundred people died after DEG was used in a medicine.
