jeffb and mcquinn offer good advice on "something more". With today's easy-to-use designs coupled with low prices on variable voltage PVs, why not go ahead and get something that will take your vaping experience to the next level and beyond? I'll toss another similar option your way. At roughly the same length as an eGo-C Twist 900mAh, the $21 Vision Spinner 1300mAh goes a really long time between charges. You'll need the charger ($2.99), and I'd recommend Boge 3Ω cartomizers ($5.50). With a 3Ω cartomizer, the maximum power you can achieve using a Twist/Spinner is slightly little less than 8 watts...a great vape IMO without much risk of burning out the cartomizer's coil. Total cost at VapeLite for the Vision Spinner, charger, and a box of five cartos...$32.49 shipped. PS - Don't forget the e-liquid.2 points

Hey Rixter, that first video that Uma linked to, the JC West tutorial is spot on. I just setup my AGA-T2 almost exactly the way he did in the video and I couldn't be happier. My wick is fully oxidized unlike his but that is simply because I already had it oxidized fully. This method he shows is perfect IMO.2 points

I wrote up a full review of the DSE901 kits that my fiancee and I purchased from AquaVaporCig.com. Please forgive that it is written for people that generally are new or don't know much about even the existence of eCigs and this is my first ever review of an eCig. Usually, I do reviews of computer gaming hardware and computer games. The full review, as well as many others, can be found here (with better formatting): http://pdxmurderousmoppets.blogspot.com/2013/01/review-aquavaporcig-pro-dse901-pcc-ecig.html Review: AquaVaporCig PRO DSE901 PCC Electronic Cigarette Kit By: Christopher “Synther” Wilson Some may wonder why I would be doing a review on an electronic cigarette kit and lump it in with my regular reviews of computer hardware and games, since these things seem fairly unrelated. In reality, I find that they are extremely related since there is a good percentage of computer IT people that smoke. And a good percentage of those people are also gamers. The old saying at many corporations I’ve worked at was that if you had a question you couldn’t find an answer to, go out to the smoking area and you’ll get 20 new answers to help you out. This was the complete truth, too. Having smoked menthol cigarettes for close to 25 years, I’ve recently decided that it was time to think about getting off of tobacco. Quitting is difficult since the nicotine gum tastes like crap and the patch irritates my skin. And neither of these is smoking! Which is the hardest part since I freaking love to smoke. The alternative is the electronic cigarette. You can continue with the vice you love without burning tobacco and the related chemicals involved with it. Because it is not burning any tobacco, the eCig can sometimes be used in locations where traditional smoking is not allowed as well (be sure to ask or kindly put it away if you are asked to stop). And yet another benefit is that you can get the liquids in excellent flavors! This is something that the FDA took away from smokers, which is stupid. They claimed that “Strawberry” flavored tobacco, for instance, was catering to children and those under the legal age (note that I say both children and those under the legal age…that’s because, I’m sorry, but 15 years old is NOT a child). But at the same time, they don’t try to claim that “strawberry” flavored Vodka is catering to children or those under the legal age. Ultimately, it comes down to the government telling me that it is apparently ok for me to poison my body one way but that it is socially unacceptable to do it in another way and they’ll use the guise of “public health” to argue it. Ridiculous. Keep in mind that we, the IT people, keep your society, life, and corporations running. A good percentage of us smoke (and drink obscene amounts of coffee and energy drinks). Don’t make an attempt to take away our nicotine (or caffeine) or we may decide to no longer part with our arcane knowledge to keep all the crap you rely on running. Something you anti-smokers might want to consider. You need us and literally cannot live without us. Do not piss us off. We. Are. Legion. “So, Synther, how does the electronic cigarette work?” Asks the uninitiated. The electronic cigarette uses a battery and atomizer with a heating coil to heat up eJuice, or smoke juice, liquid that contains nicotine. The vapor that is produced is then inhaled and is very similar to a normal smoking experience. How the liquid is loaded into the eCig depends on the model you purchase, but there are basically three models. The first is the two piece design. This design is the one you are seeing the new TV commercials about by Blu and is very close in size to a real “analog” cigarette. This consists of a battery unit and what is called a Cartomizer. The Cartomizer is a single piece that contains both the cartridge and the atomizer, hence the clever name. Cartomizers have the benefit of holding a good amount of eJuice and are compact. Some companies market their Cartomizers as disposable and when used in this manner, you get the side benefit of a fresh atomizer every time you replace the Cartomizer. In reality, every brand of Cartomizer can be refilled. The next type of eCig is the three piece design. These can range in size to being about the same size as a regular 100 style analog cigarette all the way up to being about the size of a good cigar. Generally, the size is directly related to how long the battery is going to last you. In a three piece design, you have the cartridge containing the eJuice, an atomizer unit, and a battery. The benefit of these is that you can get a lot of good options with them and many can also use Cartomizers to turn them into a two piece design or use a tank for much longer “vaping.” The last type is what is referred to as a “Mod.” These generally do not look like cigarettes at all but have some crazy capabilities. These will usually use a tank system, such as a Clearomizer and have an extremely long battery life. One example would be the new Joytech eVic, which has an LCD screen that shows information on how much liquid is left, battery life, and even the number of seconds of your average draw. It can then be plugged into your computer and this information can be tracked! After doing what literally amounted to weeks of research, I settled on a DSE901 model eCigarette. This is a three piece design with a lot of options in the future and is about the same size as a real cigarette but is just a little longer. Price ranges can vary widely, but the best deal I found was at AquaVaporCig.com. Their PRO DSE901 PCC kit offers two batteries in your choice of automatic or manual push button, two atomizers, five pre-filled cartridges, a free 10ml bottle of eJuice in your choice of flavors, a USB charger and wall adapter, and a PCC (Personal Charging Case). I felt that my choice in this particular kit was important since the idea of not smoking real “analog” cigarettes any more is a rather major life change after doing it for so long. I wanted it to be as close to my real habit as possible or else I would undoubtedly fail in my endeavor. The PCC is close enough feeling to a real cigarette case that it feeds the habit of reaching into my pocket for the pack all while serving the purpose of charging a dead battery for me. I chose to go with manual batteries due to the fact that I would like to try direct dripping and manual batteries are sealed. Direct dripping is where you drop one or two drops of eJuice directly into the atomizer and should be good for eight to 10 puffs. If some of the liquid leaks out into an unsealed battery, you can ruin the battery! There was a simple mistake and what were shipped to me were automatic batteries. Because it was later in the evening, AquaVaporCig was closed, so I left them an email to resolve the situation. Even late after hours, they immediately contacted me telling me to keep the two batteries I have as spares and that they are shipping me the manual batteries first thing in the morning. True to their word, I received an email the following morning confirming that they shipped out the new manual batteries. It's one thing to have a well stocked business with good prices but it is another to have excellent customer service. And AquaVaporCig has customer service in droves! If you’re thinking of going with an electronic cigarette, parts for an eCig, or want to buy some eJuice, I would recommend them just on their customer service alone. The other reason I wanted a manual battery was because I had found the draw on other brands of automatic batteries to be a little tight. I didn’t want to feel like I was sucking in my cheeks just to get a drag off my cigarette. I was pleasantly surprised that the automatic batteries on the PRO DSE901 are not like that at all! It is a very pleasant and easy draw. The atomizer works extremely well and the eCig produces good flavor and vapor overall. Since it is new, I used the DSE901 a little more than I would normally smoke but I still found that the battery was good for a little over two hours. I selected high nicotine (24mg) menthol flavor for my prefilled cartridges and high nicotine (24mg) Strawberry flavored eJuice for my free 10ml bottle. Because AquaVaporCig.com has a 10% discount code to use if you are switching from “analog” cigarettes to electronic cigarettes, I saved some money on the overall purchase and ordered some extra flavors of Low Nicotine (11mg) Butterscotch and their new AquaVMax line of liquid in High Nicotine (26mg) Cocoa Mint. The cartridges for the PRO DSE901 are what are known as a “whistle tip.” This is almost exactly like you would find on a Swisher Sweet Cigarello. At first, I didn’t think I was going to like this tip because it wasn’t enough like a real cigarette. However, I found that the whistle tip works perfectly with the PRO DSE901 and aids in gripping it in the mouth in a comfortable fashion. It has been said that for flavor, you’ll never find an exact match to “analog” cigarettes. I somewhat disagree with that, but in the case of the 24mg Nicotine Menthol that was prefilled in these cartridges it is pretty close to true. Instead of tasting like a true menthol cigarette, these taste much better and are a lot like the flavor of a stick of Wrigley’s Double-Mint gum (a comedian once stated the truth when he said, “if cigarettes tasted good, why don’t we see Marlboro flavored ice cream?”). I found them to be quite enjoyable and the 24mg strength to be just about perfect for what I was looking for. Vapor production is pretty average with the prefilled liquid and about the same that you would see with a real cigarette. I admit that the flavor I was really excited about was the AquaVMax Cocoa Mint 26mg. As I stated, many will tell you that it is impossible to match an eJuice flavor with any real “analog” cigarette. In this case, that claim is completely untrue. The AquaVMax Cocoa Mint, to me (I realize that taste is very subjective), tastes exactly like a Camel Jade. It has that perfect mix of menthol mint flavor on the inhale with a very chocolaty flavor on the exhale. The AquaVMax flavors come in a little bit stronger strengths than AquaVapor’s Premium eCig Liquids and I didn’t think that the 2mg difference between 26mg and 24mg would really matter. I was wrong. 26mg is a little too strong on the throat hit for me and the next time I order this flavor; I will definitely get it in the 18mg strength. I found that this seems about twice as strong as one of my regular rolled “analog” cigarettes. The other thing to note about the AquaVMax line is that they are made with a 50/50 mix of Polyethylene Glycol (or PG, a common component found in food products and cosmetics) and Vegetable Glycerin (or VG). VG tends to be a little thicker than PG but produces more vapor, while PG is known to carry the flavor additive better. The 50/50 mix of the two seems perfect for good flavor and large amounts of vapor production. Notice I did say “next time I order this flavor,” because I can definitely see this flavor being my regular all day vape. It is absolutely delicious in every way and I will be ordering this again! Charging the battery of the PRO DSE901 is a very simple process, especially if you’re a technogeek that is in front of your computer all the time. Simply plug the USB charger into an available USB port on your computer (or use the supplied wall adapter), screw in the battery until the light on the charger goes red, and you’re charging. When the light on the charger turns green, the battery is charged and ready to be used. Alternately, you can use the PCC pack to charge your battery as well. The PCC is used when you’re out and about and you need to charge your battery. It also holds a fully charged battery with an atomizer on it and five cartridges. This one pack should have you set for an entire couple of days of vaping! To charge your battery using the PCC, screw the battery into the second hole from the left and press the button on the front of the case. The LED light will turn on and go to red. When the light goes to green or turns off, your battery is charged. Alternately, you can leave the spare battery in this slot unscrewed for storage. Pressing the button on the front of the PCC will then show you the battery level of the PCC itself. This pack is great! The charge on the pack is good to recharge your batteries about 10 times total! The pack is easy to charge and comes with its own USB cable that can be used with the wall adapter or plugged into your computer as well. The one extremely minor gripe that I have with the PRO DSE901 is that the PCC will not hold a fully assembled eCig if you are using the atomizer and cartridge. Instead, you have to remove the cartridge each time to put it away and put the cartridge back on when you want to vape it (vaping is the term to use instead of smoking). However, if you decide to use Cartomizers with your DSE901, this is not the case and the pack will hold a fully assembled eCigarette. The Cartomizers I’ve tried in the past on other brands had a tougher draw and I just didn’t like them as much. Having said that, the quality of the merchandise from AquaVaporCig is so good, I may purchase a pack of Cartomizers from them anyway since it is very likely that I’ll find a much better experience! In all, I am extremely pleased with AquaVaporCig.com and with their PRO DSE901 PCC Kit. It should be noted that when shopping for a DSE901 starter kit, all of the others that I found only came with one atomizer, did not offer any free liquid, and were usually about $10 more in price. AquaVaporCig.com has a good product with excellent pricing and they completely back it up with phenomenal customer service. Whether you’re a first time buyer of an electronic cigarette or looking for new flavors and parts, you should definitely check them out. And if you are switching from analog cigarettes, be sure to use the discount code of “switch” in your cart to get your 10% discount on your total purchase!1 point

Nope the kit is perfect. You did great. Keep in mind that even if you don't like the flavor of the juice that it doesn't mean vaping won't work for you. There are literally 1,000s of different flavors. You might want to pick up some blank cartomizers to refill yourself with whatever juice you want. The brand most of us like are made by Boge. Here's just one link. You may find them cheaper as there are tons of vendors who carry them. http://old.310vapers.com/e-cigarette-accessories/e-cigarette-cartomizers/bulk-deals/boge-lr-cartomizers-15-pack-mix-n-match.html# Here is a great carto filling tutorial. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=PICBRi37Zs0 Also try and stay away from tobacco flavors as they really don't taste like a cigarette. A lot of vendors have sample packs so you can try lots of flavors. I'd I have yet to find someone that didn't find at least 2-3 flavors in their "a little bit of everything" sample pack that they love. http://www.aliceinvapeland.com Now only do this after you order samples from a different vendor first as Alice In Vapeland takes up to 2 weeks to ship. They are very popular and a very small organization.1 point

I tried watching Rick's video awhile back when I was first building the aga-s and I got pissed due to the horrible audio quality. Sounded like his girl kept a finger over the microphone hole...pretty girl but he should have just opted for a tripod! Haha...off topic, sorry.1 point

I don't own one yet, but I've never heard a single complaint about their quality of workmanship or performance...quite the opposite, actually. I'd say it's a safe bet that you'll be completely satisfied with a ProVari. There may be some comparable devices available, but in my opinion (subject to rebuttal), it certainly doesn't get any better.1 point

Synther suggested a Vision clearomiser (Stardust or V2) and I agree but go to Sweet-Vapes.com to get it. They're a dollar cheaper and you can pick up e-liquid there too. Sweet-Vapes has yummy juice. http://www.sweet-vapes.com/index.php?page=shop.browse&category_id=39&vmcchk=1&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=84 For now I'd say go with something simple like the V2 or the Nano. I prefer the Nano for new users because it doesn't hold a lot of juice so there's no waste, it's easier to change flavors without having to change clearomizers. Just my two cents.1 point

It's like all these mod makers know it's tax time. Lol!!! If I can swing it cool. If not I'm sure the next "shiny" is right around the corner. Some of Gepetto's stuff just isn't me. The devil and horror stuff just ain't my style. I do appreciate it though. It's just with pieces like that I think it should go to someone it fits to truly be appreciated. I'll only try for pieces that speak to me. The two above do. I would love to own either.1 point

help ! did i just make a HUGE mistake?
Tam reacted to CascadianExotics for a topic
Sweet pick up!!! Like others said, get more juice, maybe a clearomizer / vivi nova / carto tank, and you'll be in business. My biggest mistake in starting out was not leaving enough budget to get a few bottles in different strengths. For the first few days, I ended up making myself sick a number of times chain-vaping too high of a strength while jonesing for a smoke. Worse yet, I was stuck with the high-strength liquid until payday, then a few more days until my juice order arrived in the mail. Congrats, again, and good luck to you on your journey towards a new (and better) analog-free life!!!1 point -
It's by Stiff over at vapor wall. Just concerned with the timing of everything. The Orion V3 is soon and he's making a limited run of these that I may or may not make be able to swing. I'm not missing the Orion that's for sure. If not I'll just have to save up for a Gepetto pipe. or Man is a genius! Vapable art!!!1 point

I agree Uma. Im not a pipe kinda guy, but that is very nice looking.1 point

It looks like you should be able to hit the ground running with this kit. If I were you, though, I'd purchase a tank and definitely more liquid right away so you won't have to wait for it when you need it later. In my experience cartomizers don't last long before it needs a refill.1 point

I love the Vision Spinner! While the eGo Twist is wonderful, one draw back is that it's next to impossible to see the numbers and what voltage you're vaping at. The Vision Spinner is just like the Twist but with easy to read numbers. My new 1300 Spinner is wonderful. It lasts for a loooooong time between charges. You'll find we all have our favorite toys and we give similar yet different recommendations. I think all of the recs are pretty good for starting out. In the beginning it's good to get something that just "works" and is easy to use. Then, you'll start branching out and trying other things. The easiest for me would be a CE4 (also called a Vision Stardust), Vivi Nova/Vivi Nova Mini, or the new T3 or MT3. You just fill, wait a few minutes so the wicks can get soaked through with e-liquid and vape. For throat hit on the juice you'll want either more nicotine and/or more PG. For more vapor you'll want the higher VG. I'd say go with a 50 PG/50 VG. The higher the nicotine you get, you'll also sacrifice a little on the flavor. If you smoke full flavor I'd suggest 18 or 24 mg of nic. If you smoked lights, 12 mg of nic. Ultra-lights, 6 mg. Just keep in mind that we all seem to vape more than we smoked so in order not to get a nicotine overdose, you'll want a lower nicotine juice for when you're chain vaping. A higher mg juice for when you're not. There are wonderful people on this forum who will answer any question...no matter how many. Good luck!1 point

hello Jerky! lowering the resistance has a similar effect as upping the voltage. low resistant cartos/attys make a standard 3.7v e-cig hit like a 5v. The perfect voltage/resistance is debatable. If I'm not using a variable volt device I prefer low voltage and low resistance.1 point

thanks everyone i ended up getting this kit http://www.vapow.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=JY-SKB @caseace79 i would have gotten the kit you posted but they were sold out and i want to stop smoking analogs ASAP so this kit came with 5 v-cartomizers, i wont be only using those i want the tank and liquid but for now will i be able to even use the cartonmizers with what i was given in the kit? it seems ok but i feel like they were missing something from the kit.1 point

That's a sexy rig you got there! I would just take my bombshell stinger minus the kick. I would also take the igo-l dripper atty because it is simply the easiest to set up and keep a great vape. Supplies I'd need would be minimal. Silica wick, kanthal, a bic lighter, and a mini screwdriver. As far as juice it would probably be Ginger's RY4 or Pink Spot. I only say minus the kick because it destroys battery life. Give me the stinger with two 26650's and I could vape about 4 days before I need to even think about charging.1 point
-
Well, I worked the last two nights so this evening I was able to get my AGA-T2 going. This is working like a charm for now. I wrapped the coil free hand with 32ga kanthal. I shortened the wick that I started with and rolled it tighter. I have the wick almost as close as I can without touching the positive post. This allowed me to work out the blasted hotspots. So far this is vaping like a dream. The flavor seems more full than the aga-s but I don't think by much. This is an easy win in my book for the money. I have it currently set up with the glass tank and have zero leaking as of yet. I have pics so here we go!1 point
-
yeah, that's what I thought BUT is it available now??!? I know that guy had some health issues and juice production came to a stop.1 point
-
Oh and also you can use a pair of tweezers to crimp the coil around the backside of the wick. The idea isn't to get the wick closer to the post as it is to have as little room as possible when the coil leaves the surface of the wick to the positive post.1 point

Thanks for the kind words. It's cool to have some positive feedback on my choice of mod. I think i set myself up for needing the kick because i got a dual-coil tank discounted with the sale of my kit. I hear those like some extra wattage for a good vape... Thanks again everybody for the input! I have gone to a larger "battery" (I'm still getting the lingo down) with more vapor output and find that I am doing fine with the 11. Tried the 6 and the kick just wasn't there. So I have been analog free for over a week now and can't believe how well I'm doing! Like many of you, I smoked for a very long time...quit many times...tried everything out there to help me but could never sustain the quit. I think I'm going to make it this time!!1 point

Best E Cig Starter Kit?
Rixter reacted to CascadianExotics for a topic
Synther made a lot of good points. The manual button does give you more control. However.... Analogs and E-Cigarettes are similar in the "cigarette" part of the name only. After that, its apples and oranges all the way. Drawing on an e-cig utilizes a different technique, and requires a bit of practice. This is a big reason a lot of people return to smoking....they just do not get the hang of it, and give up before they even start. (Don't get scared just yet...this is something you will get accustomed to after a couple days, and will become practically second-nature after that.) There are some good articles on this, and "the other forum" regarding the proper inhalation technique required for vaping. The articles cover the spectrum of drawing vapor on both a manual as well as an automatic battery. In short, it is up to the end user, and the use of proper inhalation technique that make all the difference in the world.1 point -
Well you have a lot of really good questions and congrats on making the effort to quit. I haven't had a real cigarette in over 2 years. This really does work. It is not a gimmick. So let's get into your questions and then I'll make some recommendations. First let's talk about the difference between the eGo-T and eGo-C. The eGo-T was the 1st tank style eGo. The "T" stands for tank. The mouthpiece is the tank for the device. The cone and atomizer are built in together and screw into the battery. Inside of the cone there is a spike that pierces into the mouthpiece. The liquid goes into the spike which feeds into the atomizer. The eGo-C is the exact same system except that the cone and atomizer are separate from each other. Making replacements cheaper to buy. Now on to the bad news. Both have their flaws. The tanks are really, really small and need to be refilled quite frequently. You also can't draw on them very hard at all otherwise you get this annoying whistle and it can cause leaking. They are also known for dry hits. So what's the difference between atomizers, cartomizers, and clearomizers. Atomizers basically are a tube with a piece of silica wick at the bottom that sits in a ceramic cup. The wick is wrapped with wire that heats up and vaporizes the juice. The downside to this is you need to drip 4-5 drops on the atomizer at a time. Vape the liquid away (about 8-10puffs) and repeat the process. Not very conducive to driving and you can over drip which causes leaking. Cartomizers were created to address the constant dripping issue. It's relatively the same size tube as an atomizer and it also has a coil that heats up the e liquid but that coil is surrounded by a poly fill material that holds more juice. You can also get cartomizer tanks (often referred to as carto tanks) which is a tank that surrounds the cartomizer, the cartomizer has one or more holes in it to continually feed the poly fill inside the cartomizer. The downside is that many people find the flavor of an atomizer much cleaner than a cartomizer. Honestly not enough to outweigh it's convenience IMO. You may get a batch where a couple are bad but the good news is that they're cheap. Clearomizers are the idea of putting an atomizer inside of a tank. They do not work consistently enough for me to recommend any of them. They have all had wicking problems and one will be amazing and the next one you will have to throw away after 5 min. of using it. The atomizer can't sit on the bottom of the tank as if it's completely surrounded by liquid it's flooded and can't produce vapor. Soo you have to put it above where the juice is, but then you have the problem of getting the juice from the bottom up to where the coil is. They try to accomplish this by having long strands of wick going down into the tank. Only problem is that the whole system is fighting itself. Gravity is trying to keep the juice going downward while the wick is trying to work juice up to the coil. Resulting in dry hits. The vivi nova works the best out of all of them but you still get some that are bad out of the box. So automatic and manual batteries. Automatic batteries require you to inhale to activate. Unfortunately they aren't sealed and juice WILL eventually get down in the battery causing it to short out. Always go with a manual battery. So on to my recommendations. I would stay away from the eGo-T and eGo-C kits. I would recommend a couple eGo twist batteries, charger and carto tank. The ego twist is a lot like the standard eGo batteries except you can adjust your voltage between 3.2 to 4.8 volts. Higher voltage creates more heat and more vapor. eGo Twist starter kit I know I said to stay away from the clearomizers but the kit is cheaper than buying the batteries and charger seperately. And this way you can decide for yourself. Here's a pretty nice tank. It's made of glass as some juices react with plastic tanks. [url="[url="http://www.valleyvapes.com/Triple-V-Pyrex-4ml-Premium-Tank_p_71.html"] They also carry cartomizers on the same site. And you'll need a carto punching tool to put holes in your cartomizers. It's not the best carto punching tool but it's cheap and it'll work. [url="[url="http://www.valleyvapes.com/Cartomizer-Punch_p_15.html"] It may seem like I'm pushing valleyvapes but I'm not. Honestly never even shopped there. Was just looking for a cheap starter kit and they just so happened to have a nice carto tank setup. Just trying to save you money not having to pay shipping from 5 different places. If you need anything just PM me. Worst case scenario is we do a Skype call to make sure you're good to go. I'd say good luck but it really isn't that hard.1 point

Does anyone know of any YouTube videos that show how to set up the AGA Tiamat PLUS, including info on SS mesh and coils? I am a complete noob when it comes to RBAs, so I'm basically looking for "An Idiot's Guide To RBAs".1 point
