  1. Hello errybody! Just back to work after about a month off due to a left total hip replacement, went way better than expected and I am just working on strenght and control now. I had been on narcotics for almost 14 months, and am now dealing with the end of the withdrawl period, and running into a bit of a bout with depression. Working out and staying active is helping a lot, but I am not too worried I still love life and cannot wait for all the beautiful things to come for me! It's amazing how much strenght you lose when you don't use your muscles for over a year. I have had to takes steps one at a time with my right leg, as well as use a cane/crutches...quite an ordeal! Anyhoo, back in action and I will be around more frequently again.

  2. No offense taken and I'm sorry if it seems like I brought heat on you, that was not my intention. If there was no differnces in opinions we would have this forum. Like when you say that a voltage is outdated I totally disagree. 3.7 is the industry standard weather or not it is regulated, or varries slightly during use or the meter says 4 or 3.1 with a load or what ever. The electrovoperoligists say that kgo has a higher voltage output. The amperage is what really does the work and I don't know how they compare that way but by going up with voltage and amperage doesn't mean your going to get a better vape. There are more variables to punch in like what kind of atty/carto/dual coil that the battery is pushing. I have tried 3 different large mah "3.7" batteries today to see if I could notice a difference. I'm not putting this in the review section because it was not an extensive comparison. Joyetech eGo 1000mAh SLB kgo 1100mAh Mark's mod 14500 900mAh I tried all back to back and back again with a Lr306 drip atty. No noticable difference I tried kgo and eGo with ego c tank setup. No noticable difference I tried kgo and eGo with kgo atty. No noticable difference I tried kgo and eGo with elegance clearomiser No noticable difference I liked the lr 306 the best. The elegance clearomiser in not lr but works good and even better at 5 volts(different mod) The one way the kgo beats the eGo is the price but that's only if it can stand the test of time. My eGo already has.

    Provari Mini -- Anyone?

This is exactly what I have in a matted silver. http://www.provape.com/ProVari-Variable-Voltage-V2-p/provari.htm I would absolutely love a Mini, though... Can't really take my ProVari out in public.. especially not with an emdcc attached. It looks, at the very least.. lethal. Ha.

  6. Sorry Blu...I was only trying say we all have our opinions...and I personally think its ok to voice any and all opinions (within reason.. ) Currently, There are better products than the standard ego....the technology is changing sooooo fast. I know we have a lot of pro ego on this site(me included)...but if nobody brings anything new to the table, then I won't be able to spend all my money, then the credit card company would collapse !!!

Yeah. Not a good thing when the "glass cover" wants to communicate while you're vaping. Ha! I think I must have the older version, then. I have to put my provari on time-out sometimes.

  8. YES! I stealth vaped in my prep room, hiding the ecig with my mother when I had to go get cut, and after the surgery when my family entered the first thing I asked them for was my bag, with my Ego's in it It was a fine experience, and everyone was really nice/helpful. As it turns out, the nurses in the area didn't even ask about the odd things on my bedside table, it was so packed with random junk/grabbers/breath testers/pill/ect that they didn't even notice. One nurse walked in when I was exhaling, but didn't mention anything, although I saw the question roll through her head. (Then again maybe that's my paranoia with my heavily drugged state going to work there)

I have some extra liquids if you are interested.....PM me with what type of flavors and I can see what I have....I'll warn you, don't have any tobacco flavors. @Daisy....Personally I love dripping. The best way to figure out your sweet spot is to try various methods. I still like trying new stuff, but I always come back to dripping.

  10. The only way you can tell really is by looking at the "glass" cover. I've noticed that the units that first came out early last year (I pre ordered one of the first units) Don't like LR atomizers. This isn't actually an issue with the device, it's the protection circuit kicking in. LR atomizers on high voltage is a bit risky. The Pro Vari is just doing it's job. E8 I assume is it's way of saying, take it down a notch broham. With that said however, the newer units (summer of last year on forward) seem to have the E8 error less. Especially when using Dual Coil cartomizers for example. Why? I'm not sure. I can only imagine they changed some of the settings on the internal components.

    Provari Mini -- Anyone?

You know, I've had my provari for almost 3 months, now... and I still don't know which kind it is. It could be the old version since it doesn't say anything but ProVari.. how can you tell? I would absolutely Love to get a Mini, as well.. but like Christopher, I just can't justify it. But I can drool! Ha. @7sons.. I've gotten that error, as well.. From what I can tell, my Provari doesn't like very low resistance, but to be honest, it could just be operator error on my part. With low resistance, however, I just have to lower the voltage... haven't had any problems with the threading, however.. If that continues with that particular atomizer and you've replaced them.. you may want to call them and ask.. That shouldn't be happening, I don't think. I know that, sometimes, my Provari doesn't like my emdccs.. but, I just chalked that up to an emdcc problem. Hmmmm..

  12. I haven't purchased the new mini version but I like the looks. For me I can't justify the cost for another. That and my "old" Pro Vari works so well even after almost a year and 2 months of hard labor there just isn't much reason for me to get another But, I do envy that you have the smaller version @7sons could be the type of atomizer your using? I screw my carto's on pretty tight and I've never had an error.

  14. Holy Honkin Cartomizer batman! E-cig-arsenal sent me a free cartomizer - WOW, lol! i'll be able to go a couple days before topping off! Have you ever tried to drip with an atty? If i'm a dipper, can it still be done if i get an atty? They have them cheap at ECA and someone offered to send me a cleaned used one to try out - but they hadn't dripped since their 510 days. I'm totally fine with just cartomizers, just wondering if it's possible Btw - i'll be paying it forward already - my other half has a best friend trying to quit, so we're going to send her my old mistic stuff with the USB charger so she doesn't have to buy all that stuff. i'm quite sure i'll also be able to help someone new out with some minimal 510 supplies. i'd like to make someone as happy as you did me, because i'm still just feeling really blessed right now!

    I'm An Tech Guy...

I volunteer helping the elderly with their computers. Sometimes they just aren't plugged in...sometimes they have a file that they keep trying to open...suddenly have a virus...i go over, remove virus(es)...lather rinse repeat. But nearly EVERY single one has just been that the computer came unplugged - heck, one guy was unplugging his just so he could watch me bend over - I remedied that with a bit of electrical tape I've had to talk to Time Warner (our only option here) for about 20 people so i pick their "id" question and answer - always favorite movie and gone with the wind - unbelievable how much that helps, ROFL!

    Health Observation

I'm working on my one year vapeversary. I know that my health has improved. I never expected that this journey would take me as far as it has. We have an amazing community of vapers! One of the hardest things about giving up the tobacco was the fact that i would no longer be able to hang out with my smoking buddies. Smoking was a social event for me and trying to quit while being around it i would always find that it was too hard to say no to having a smoke. I didn't like the feeling that was missing something, even if that was 4000+ chemicals. Vaping allows me to still be able to participate in that social aspects of going out on break for a smoke without having to give up all my friends. Follow the money and you'll see why the "digital smokers" are now public enemy #1. Drug companies, tobacco companies, government. E cigs are f*cking with that revenue and they are going to fight to the death to recap those losses. Health? Well, that comes second. I am proud to say that i am a non-smoker. I am proud that i was brave enough to take that leap of faith, take a hit to my wallet and leave big tobacco in the ashtray where it belongs. As a smoker i had nothing to lose by trying out the ecig (other than my 99 bux), as a vaper i risk losing my health to uneducated bs FDA public policy. I hope that i never pick up another cigarette as long as i live.

    Ego Battery Difference

i don't know that bob was bashing the eGo, maybe "pathetic" wasn't the right word to use, i think he just more meant "anemic", which is true. the eGo's voltage is too low for what it is. 2 years ago when there was nothing else available i can understand how it was a go to device. but now? the market has changed, the kGo fires at close to 4v, the LEO Pro fires at close to 4v UNDER LOAD, the Riva SE is a regulated 3.7v. all those batteries can be had for either the same price of an eGo or a few dollars more. the eGo probably does provide a fine vape with a lr carto/atty, but the kGo, Pro, or Riva is just simply a better vape FOR MOST PEOPLE. again, not saying there's anything wrong with the eGo, a lot of people probably really like the vape and maybe even actually PREFER it. and that's great, not bashing that at all, but when even a tiny little 808 battery can kick out a higher voltage i just think that maybe Joye needs to start to re-think their batterie's performance.

    Brand New Ego -C

Agree with Bob as well. However, this person is asking for help in a purchase already made....be it subject to scrutiny or no. Cartos are not perfect, atties are hit and miss, as are Ego C atties and tanks. Point being....I've had cartos fail, atties junk, and all manner of things go wrong in QC and production. In this case....it could be a vapor person not hitting the device correctly. I figure it's a final attempt to assist without throwing away the purchased product. Your suggestion for future purchase are valid and most agreed upon. I hate to see someone in distress with current vape equipment purchased. It could be we need to help a fellow vapor in not throwing money down the drain. It's most discouraging, and if we can get him/her though this impass and on to better things afterword? Gotta try?

    Health Observation

I can understand some concerns because long term tests (10-20yrs) can't posiblly be done or even started yet. But I agree that our own personal findings and beliefs should out-weigh what others have no experience in(MYOB). I am another person who quit quitting until stumbling into vaping. I'm another 27 year smoker who could be dead right now from suicide because of Chantix, which BTW doesn't work. Another 2 year example of how vapor has had no ill effects and too many positives to list. To the FDA and/or whoever else that have concerns: Thanks for looking over my shoulder and keeping an eye out for potentionally hazardous things but until you walk 27 miles uphill in my shoes and 2 miles back down you're opinions mean very little to me.

    Diy-How To Basics

Hopefully Last but not least...... Supplies: 1.Empty dropper bottles- 3ml, 5ml, 10ml sizes are great for mixing. 2. Pipette or syringe with blunt needle. Personally, I prefer using a syringe for mixing--More accurate. 3. paper towel or rag for handling any spills or messes 4. Labels are good for identifying your new mixes. If using paper labels I have found that applying scotch tape over the label keeps the label legible. 5. mixing calculator helps with acheiving the correct nicotine strength. There are other calculators out there, but I like Todd Muellers: http://www.todmuller.com/ejuice/ejuice.php . I usually put my flavor at 30 - 40%. I like lots of flavor. Mixing -can be simple (combining premixed liquids to create a new flavor) or more complicated, mixing from scratch. Or somewhere in between. 1. Always start your mixing or experimentation with small amounts. Its much easier to throw out a small amount of liquid if it turns out bad. The 3ml bottles are great for experimenting. 2. Its a good idea to keep track of what and how much you have added to your mix--just in case you want to make more. **It is easy enough to mix 2 or more premixed liquids together to get a new flavor. This is easiest if you are using the same nicotine strength. i.e.- Tobacco 18mg/Watermelon 18mg/menthol 18mg/pina colada 18mg. The amounts would depend on taste. Start with 5 drops of each in a 3ml bottle, shake and vape--can adjust the flavor as you want by adding more of one of the flavors. with the menthol--using just 1-2 drops/3ml will give a nice cool throat hit without tasting like menthol. ** Can use PG/VG or both to cut a higher strength liquid. i.e.- 24mg premixed liquid 1ml can be mixed with 1ml PG or VG to make 12mg/ml liquid. If cutting a premixed flavor, keep in mind, it will also decrease the flavor. If you don’t want the flavor loss you can cut with 0 nicotine strength in the same or a different flavor. You can also use flavorings to boost the flavor. use the calculator to determine how much PG/VG to use to achieve the desired strength. Just put 0 in the water and flavor boxes. ** Adding Flavoring to premixed liquids This is actually one of the easiest forms of mixing and is a great place to start the DIY journey. We all have flavors we don’t really care for, but by adding flavoring you can create a flavor you like. Keep in mind--when adding flavoring it will dilute the nicotine strength of the premixed liquid. one way around this is to get some unflavored higher nicotine liquid- i.e. 36mg that can be added to your mix to keep the nicotine strength at your desired level. My preferred nicotine level is 12mg/ml--so I will use that dose for mixing examples. i.e.-- cappuccino 36mg/ml, 1.7ml + FlavourArt apple pie flavoring 1.5ml + VG 1.8ml for a total of 5ml 12mg/ml. This is where the calculator comes in handy. Just put in the numbers, hit enter and the calculations are done for you. This is where having a syringe is helpful. However if you are using drops, I have found that 30 drops of PG = 1ml and 20 drops of VG = 1ml. You can use more than one flavoring: cappuccino 1.7ml + apple pie flavoring 1ml + Vanilla 1ml + VG 1.3 ml = 5ml 12mg/ml Don’t be afraid to mix more than one flavor. When cooking, most dishes require more than one flavor to get the right taste. ** mixing from scratch You will need PG and/or VG Unflavored Nicotine liquid ( I usually use 36mg/ml) Flavorings of choice i.e. Easy Watermelon 12mg/ml 3 ml PG or VG 1 ml Lorann Watermelon flavoring 2 drops Menthol flavoring (Flavourart) 2 ml 36mg/ml Unflavored liquid i.e. using multiple flavors: Apple Pie (6ml) 18mg/ml 3 ml 36/mg unflavored 1 ml FlavourArt(FA) Apple Pie 6 drops (Flavourart) Irish Cream 2 drops (FA) perique black (tobacco) 3 drops (FA) menthol .5ml PG .5ml VG 3 drops hazelnut 6 drops vanilla ** Misc Notes Tobacco Flavorings are very, very strong--a little goes a very long way. A couple drops to 5ml will give a nice background flavor. If using more, add a drop or 2 at a time to taste. Lorann flavorings are very concentrated. You would use less Lorann than you would with other flavorings. Avoid flavorings with oils or sugars--both can damage your atomizer. If you find your mix needs to be sweeter there are a couple of options: 1. Loranns cotton candy or Marshmallow flavorings are great for adding sweetness. 2. DIY flavor shack carrys Eythol Malto which is a sweetener. 3. I actually prefer the Lorann--overall sweeter tasting. 4. I add a few drops of Menthol to all my mixes-adds a cool throat hit and enhances the flavor. Just a little does not taste like menthol. If you like menthol, just add more. 5. always start mixing with small amounts and keep track of what and how much. 6. For taste testing--dripping works best. Mixing is a lot of trial and error in the beginning. Add flavoring a little at a time until you find the balance you like will help keep waste to a minimum. I am hoping others will be able to add their tips and ideas. the above is just my own opinion and my own experience. If all or part of this is confusing please let me know-writing documents is not my strong suit !!!! Merry Mixing

Lorann: Candy Flavoring. Very concentrated flavoring. Best for sweet flavors. 2. Can be purchased from the Lorann site. Avoid Flavors that are oil based. If you click on the 'item detail' button it will tell you if it is water soluble or insoluble. You want only water soluble flavorings. The oils can burn out the atomizer and are harder to mix. 2. 25. This is actually quite a good point and one of the reasons the manufactures recommends that you only use your cartomizer for 1-2 days. It's the same reason why I don't suggest people continually wash and reuse their cartomizers. While there is no current research available the bottom line is, cartomizers are designed to be used short term and not long term. As for storing cartomizers I think most people use them on a day to day basis. But I do agree storing liquid in a cartomizer over a long period of time is not recommended.
